Smokin' ribs showdown April 6, 2024 | BBQ Expo

The SMOKIN’ RIBS SHOWDOWN is a KCBS-sanctioned competition, providing teams with the opportunity to earn points towards the 2024 Europe Team of The Year (TOY) rankings. The competition consists of two rounds of One-Meat Ribs. The competition consists of cooking pork ribs in pure American style, smoked at low temperature for 5/6 hours. Marinade, spices and smoking are the main ingredient!
Each round is akin to a standalone contest, so teams participating in both rounds can earn double points. BBQ Expo attendees will have the chance to witness the teams in action live and witness the winners’ award ceremony.

The Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting barbecue. Founded in 1986 by Gary and Carolyn Wells and Rick Welch, it is currently the world’s largest organization of barbecue and grilling enthusiasts, boasting nearly 16,000 members worldwide. Its mission is to celebrate, teach, preserve, and promote barbecue as a culinary, sporting, and artistic technique. KCBS sanctions over 500 barbecue competitions across the United States, Canada, Australia, Israel, Europe, Latin America, and South America, ensuring world-class evaluations thanks to KCBS-trained and certified judges.
