THE NUTRITIONAL QUALITIES OF MEAT: BENEFITS AND LIMITS OF THE U.S. FOOD PYRAMID
Assunta Susanna Bramante, PhD in Agronomy (Animal Production, Health, and Food Hygiene in Mediterranean Climate Countries), discusses the nutritional qualities of beef and the significant shift in the food pyramid introduced by the new U.S. Dietary Guidelines (USDA/HHS 2025).
These updated recommendations do not promote an indiscriminate increase in the consumption of meat or animal fats; instead, they re-position meat, dairy, eggs, and fish within a framework of moderation and quality—an approach that aligns more closely with the historical Mediterranean model.
The speaker, also well-known for her active and impactful presence on social media, will highlight the latest studies regarding the beneficial effects of balanced meat consumption on human health.
